How Obama Got Elected

Kudos to John Ziegler for helping to reveal what a bunch of ignorant douchebags most Obama voters are. In this video, he interviewed a number of Obama voters on Election Day.
Here are the survey results from a Zogby Poll commissioned by Ziegler:
Zogby Poll
512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points
97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates
Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions
57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)
71.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)
82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)
88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)
56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).
And yet…..
Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes
Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her “house,” even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!
Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.
Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we “gave” one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)

Hmm…there’s douche baggery afoot here! Unfortunately, Mr. Ziegler was either mistaken or stupid when he scored his poll. 82.6% of respondents had more information and/or sense to know what Barak Obama didn’t win his first election by getting his rivals kicked off the ticket. His rivals failed to get enough valid signatures to be put on the ballot. No intervention by Mr. Obama necessary. Score that one for the informed voters.
On the Biden/plagiairism question, someone with familiarity of the facts would know that that wasn’t the sole or even the main reason he quit that campaign. Another one for the informed voters.
On the coal industry question, again the poll respondents are clearly more informed than Mr. Ziegler. The thrust of his comments were if the energy companies thought they could continue to build pollution belching plants and not more efficient “clean” plants, there was not a future in it for them. Luckily for everyone, the voters and poll respondents are more acquainted with the facts than Mr. Ziegler.
Oh, and the trick question for which no correct response was provided in the poll regarding Ms. Palin seeing Russia from her house. She made so many similar statements, including one to Charlie Gibson in her first “interview”, the correct scoring of that question is that 84% of those polled were able to correctly identify the twit who claimed that because a fisherman on a remote Alaskan island could see an equally remote Russian island, that she was somehow qualified to govern. Another one for the informed voter. (I’m starting to see a trend here)
I think the voters polled acquitted themselves quite well on all accounts. They clearly understand the facts better than Mr. Ziegler. They are obviously immune to the Republican talking points which would have you believe that up is down.
It was a very enlightening survey. it certainly focused a bright light on the douche baggery of Mr. Ziegler!
Despite all of the stupidity on the part of Mr. Ziegler, I think the most egregious was the concept that this “poll” was a test of the knowledge of voters of the “major issues” that occured during the campaign. The idea that voters had a scorecard wth any of these topics is ludicrous. I think the majority of voters went to the polls with the differences in policies and past performance in their minds and clearly made the sensible choice. Just because you and Mr. Ziegler don’t agree doesn’t make you bad people, it just makes you douche bags.
