House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) has recently disclosed that she maintains a sizeable investment in the Alcatel-Lucent corporation; a company which is well known for its grandiose investments in “terror friendly” nations. This Town Hall article by Dick Morris and Eileen McGann explains:

Prior to his overthrow, Alcatel carried out major fiber optic products for dictator Saddam Hussein in Iraq, despite U.S. government warnings to the French company that the project could advance Iraqi military capabilities.

Alcatel is currently “involved in similar telecommunications projects ranging from upgrading networks to the installation [of] underwater fiber optic cables” in Sudan and Lybia.

Foremost, it is worth mentioning that if this evidence were brought against any Republican, a story such as this would be all over the main stream media. However, maybe it’s not that newsworthy after all. Is it really a big surprise that Pelosi would consider engaging in an activity that is unethical or anti-American? Clearly, Ms. Pelosi’s mandate to restore accountability to Washington is getting off to a rocket start.
