Why So Serious? Obama Can Be The Joker

The first months of the Obama administration had comedians scratching their heads, trying to figure out which angle to make fun of the humorless President from.
Not long after the historic presidential election, [Bill] Maher joked that Republicans were feeling particularly superstitious: “They say the country is having bad luck because there’s a black cat in the White House.” The studio audience erupted in loud groans and boos — a reaction, Maher observed in a recent interview, that exceeded his often scathing attacks on organized religion.
Fortunately, as time passed, some chinks appeared in Obama’s Messiah-armor. A drip is transforming into a flood as America realized that “Hope and Change” was actually just old school socialism, AKA The New Deal 3.0.
Now this swing in popularity has caught up to Obama in his Presidential campaign’s venue of choice: The Street. NewsBusters has the story.
Have you seen this poster?
Apparently, it’s beginning to appear in odd places in Los Angeles, but nobody seems to know who’s responsible for it.
Radio host Tammy Bruce posted some pictures of this odd creation at her blog Saturday morning (h/t Pamela Geller) leading me to investigate further.
At this point, all I could find on the subject was an April 25 article from Bedlam Magazine:
A poster of Barack Obama in Heath Ledger-style Joker make-up with the legend ‘Socialism’ beneath it has been popping up recently on surfaces around L.A. It does not appear to be in the same category as the many benign take-offs on the Shepard Fairey ‘Hope’ poster, such as the one by Australian James Lillis (more of a straightforward spoof that merely substituted a Shepardized image of Heath Ledger as Joker on the Obama poster).
Note to Obama: Once you lose LA, you’ve lost everyone. (Chicago doesn’t count, they’ll love you even if you get the country nuked).
