Some defense lawyers are noble defenders of an accused defendant’s constitutional rights in the court of law. Others are just douchebags.
Al Garcia, last seen in the Douchebag Report unsuccessfully defending explosive intern Jennifer Nicole Anato-Mensah, has been charged with criminal sexual conduct in the third degree.
The allegations go back to last August, when a client says she showed up at Garcia’s office where pictures of Garcia with former Vice President Al Gore and President Bill Clinton hang on the wall.
She says Garcia looked like he had been partying. Then, he forced her to have sex with him. She said he boasted that he was “connected” and “plugged in.”
“Connected” and “plugged in” to what, her vagina?
The former Minneapolis City Hall insider is a douchebag among douchebags.
He was a power broker and deal maker, closely connected to then City Council President Jackie Cherryhomes, and indicted councilmember Joe Bienat among others.
But Garcia’s world started unraveling in February, when Anoka County prosecutors charged Garcia and his assistant with accepting methamphetamine as payment from a client. Those charges were dropped.
But his legal assistant, Misty Iverson, now faces federal charges of methamphetamine distribution, in which Garcia figures prominently.
Garcia is out on bail. The Minnesota Supreme Court recently placed his law license on a two-year probation for what’s described as “unethical terms in a fee agreement” and for making unauthorized charges on a client’s credit card.
Perhaps this has all been legal research on Garcia’s part. After all, he can’t really understand his clients unless he’s actually been out in the world, committing crimes.
Al Garcia is a sick indivual.He made the deal with the meth, then when they got busted he blamed it all on poor Misty.He needs to be held accountable for all his actions. Why should he be above the law.He has been sexually assaulting innocent people that are trying to help family members.I know of atleast 30 rape attempts that he has pulled on other women.Facts!! He is a skum-bag.He is also very sick with an infectious deisese. He is spreading it like wild-fire.He doesnt tell anyone about that.He needs to take responsibilty for all his actions.I vote he lose his licsence to practice law.He is involved with Mexican Cartel.

I had Al Garcia for a lawyer a few years ago and he
really is a piece of crap human being. He has no
concious or concern for anyone.
He is letting Misty Iverson take the fall for him on
the meth charges, she could get up to 10 years.
He was constantly making sexual remarks to my
wife and her girlfriend when they accompanied
me to court hearings.
Hiring him was one of the worst mistakes I have
ever made.
I hope he goes away for a long time and I will be
in the courtroom cheering at his sentencing.
First of all none of you know the facts of the meth case or a vague idea of what went down that night and the months beforehand all you know is what Rochelle Olson, reporter for the Star Tribune and long time hater of Al has written without doing any investigation. Second, if Al really did “rape” or “force” this girl to have sexual contact with him, tell me why the police waited one year to charge him, and coincidentally one week before Misty was to begin Trial?? Last time I checked when a woman says she is raped the alleged assailant is arrested and questioned that night…not a year later! And to Rick, if Al offended you so much by the alleged “comments” he made…why didnt you get a new attorney or better yet report it to someone??? And to the person who spelt corraboratting, corraperating, number one get an education, number two, are you Al’s doctor and have the evidence that he’s “spreading an infectious disease?” number three “poor misty” if you are able to say this you obviously do not know her! and number 4, so you know of 30 “rape attempts”….yeah ok, if you believe Al would have to force any woman to do anything than you clearly don’t know him.
To the last persons post why be anonymous if he is so innocent and that is what you believe why hide who you are? I don’t see a lot of people coming forward clearing his name if he was such an upstanding man. I hate to say it but he has been screwing people for years and not mention Misty. She was just another pawn in his stupid game of him thinking he is bigger then the law. I just feel sorry for his family for they will in the long run have to pay for the bullshit he has been pulling on them and have to carry his name. Let’s not make Al out to be a victim because he will get what is coming to him like the dirty city council people the he associated him with to be a mover and a shaker.

Al Garcia defines the word scumbag! We has been ripping clients off for years with his half ass effort for his clients and taking bargins to make less work for his lazy ass self. The city of Minneapolis used to be a wonderful place until Garcia and all his scumbag cronies got there hands on all the kickbacks bribes all the through city hall. He is a disgrace to all who serve the city and lobby for all the right reasons. I hope his attorney scews him over like he has so many of his clients. the best place for him will be in a prison cell and keep him from corrupting any more people with drugs and his sleazy abuse of women.

I didn’t get another attorney because once you pay him
you don’t get a refund if you don’t like him. You can kiss
that money goodbye. Start over again from square one.
Another thing, if you do anything to aggravate him while
he’s still representing you then he may not do a very
good job. Although with Garcia, I found this doesn’t
matter.
There’s many other things he did while representing
me that I didn’t mention here, some of which could
probably have had him disbarred.
I dislike this man as much as anyone I have ever met
in my life, totally without any conscience.
Oh, i agree with you Rick .. I hired Al Garcia for a case i had in Jan and He promised me i would not go to prison this was my first offense. Many times i went in to his office and he would try making passes at me several times and i blew him off. one time he made a comment ” you need to go south of the boarder” ..
As far as the money i paid him . There were several times he would tell me flat out he did not get paid and said i still owed him this amount or that amount. 3 times i had to bring in all my receipts and prove to him i paid him. Then i ended up going to prison for a year. So he was smoking meth and loosing some weight, i could tell something wasn’t right with him . I think he does deserve whatever God gives him. He played Misty she was not even smoking meth and he turned her out to it. He had sex with many of his secretaries, She wasn’t the first. He is a snake in the grass.
I feel for you Johanna, my case went on for over 2 years
because he couldn’t get his act together. He would come
to court and continually find reasons to delay.
This whole time was the worst nightmare I have ever
been through.
If you guys want justice like I got….yeah I was fkd over too by 8ball Al. Anyway I went to the cops and attorneys that are trying to put dude(8ball Al.) in jail and I got my justice!!!! you guys should do the same!
For the Anonymous writer who posted on Oct 30th, please get your facts straight.
The rape victim went straight to the clinic to get tested, where they found Al’s semen and cocaine on/in her. They waited to make it public until they had all the evidence they needed to prosecute him, as most rape cases happen.
He was also recently arrested for attempting to hire a hitman to “get rid” of the victim so she could no longer testify in court.
As for Misty Iverson.. do you know her? Probably not. There were absolutely no drugs in her system and she had never been in trouble with anything like this before. Why on Earth would she try setting him up? He’s obviously the bigger man, which is why she’ll now be sitting in federal prison for up to 10 years.
Talk to any of his former assistants. They were all victims of inappropriate behavior from Al and they all knew about his dark side.

Not only did he screw with the lives of his innocent clients and assistants, but his wife and five daughters are soon to be broke and homeless because of his actions.
Have known the Garcia’s for many years. I only feel sorry for the 5 girls. Imagine the lessons they have learned growing up in that household! Imagine the lessons learned by them that their mother taught them, that you have to stand by your man, even if he beats, cheats on you and all the the articles in the paper for years about how Al beat up his girlfriend on the Nicollet mall after crashing his car about 10 years ago…..and came home and beat up his wife. I have seen his wife with blackened eyes….after a fight…She is just as sick as he is! Al needs to go to hell and his girls need therapy!

Al is a scum bag. He doesn’t deserve to carry that last name “Garcia.” I’ve known him all of my life and his brothers and his father and cousins, aunts, uncles, the whole family. I can tell from first hand knowledge about some dog shit he has done to them like stealing his dad’s retirement money and not paying for his funeral or heasdstone. I agree that he deserves what he gets. All the time in high school he would think he was better than us because he didn’t use drugs and we did, now look at him, one of the biggest druggies there are. I just heard that Misty Iverson was sentenced to one year for the
meth charge but I can’t find the story anywhere. I feel sorry for her.
As for Garcia, the prosecutor wants at least six years. And he’s
still got the rape and witness tampering charges. He is seriously screwed.
But I don’t care, he’s proof that what goes around comes around.
I also know Al. Let me put it this way, when I met him 8 years ago he was shady. I also met Misty and my impression was that she was in way over her head. The rape case starts today and apparently there are at least 5 other victims willing to testify. They will be able to help you with whether or not other victims want to connect. Al’s fault was that he cared too much about his clients and he became too close to them. Criminal defense lawyers sometimes forget that their clients come from the lowest dregs of society and are habitual liars willing to make wild accusations such as those above. Just to let you know, the so called rape victim was a lying check forger who, in exchange for her testimony against Garcia, was not prosecuted for felony check forgery. So, answer this question, why would the government have to give a deal to someone who is suppose to be victim. in other words, in order to secure her false testimony, they promised not to charge her with a felony-boy that’s justice. Actually the video confirmed that Al had nothing to do with the possession of the drugs. According to the pleadings I read in the case, the day before the “sting operation” Garcia, when told (entraped) by the informant (rat) if he wanted the drugs, he said that he did not want to have anything to do with that. Don’t you think that if the video showed Garcia accepting the drugs that it would have been leaked to the press-of course it would have. The fact of the matter is that Garcia had to pled guilty, get five years (of which he will do 1 year) given the fact that he was facing over 20 years in prison and did not know what Iverson was going to say against him-keeping in mind that the government brain washed her and promsied a light sentence in exchange for her testimony. Even if you hate or even despise Al Garcia, hate equally and despise equally the governments “slash and burn” prosecution of this case. The government, in my opinion, violated numerous laws in their prosecution. While Mr. Garcia may be a contemptious individual, he did not knowlingly accept those drugs as payment for his legal services.

It should read: “Illegal Prosecution Comes To An End, Prosecutors finally realize their star witness was a lying, good for nothing, check forger. I hope Garcia files charges against the Prosecutor Amy Sweazy, more look Amy Sleezy, and files a lawsuit against that piece of crap alleged victim for defamation. Finally, the system got it right.
