Bernie Ward: GUILTY
May 14, 2008 · Print This Article
We had earlier reported on liberal talk radio host Bernie Ward’s indictment on counts of distribution of child pornography. The 57-year old former Catholic priest had been a liberal voice on San Francisco’s KGO radio for a number of years, criticizing the Bush presidency and the war in Iraq. Perhaps more interesting than the hypocrite’s actions was the left-wing call to arms that blamed a vast right wing conspiracy over the ordeal. If we take a stroll down memory lane, you will see comments such as these [Editors note: if you've strolled past the part where Bernie Ward distributed naked photos of children via email, you've gone too far]:
This hardball attempt at a partisan dirty trick- so thoroughly unbecoming to a true liberal and devout Catholic - backfired with karmic thunderation, and an indictment. (ref: blatherwatch)
The airwaves were filled with commentary like “devout catholic,” “father of four,” and many liberals even came out of the woodwork to point out that the indictment came from his relentless criticism of the Bush administration and topics to be covered in his new book (have a listen here).Well, well, well, conspiracy theorists… Bernie Ward is G-U-I-L-T-Y. In his own words, and under his own volition, Mr. Equalizer has admitted to the allegations of distribution of child pornography:
At a 30-minute hearing in federal court in San Francisco, Ward admitted he was guilty of a single charge of distributing child pornography, saying it involved “exchanging an image of a minor engaged in sexually explicit activity” in December 2004. The plea agreement he signed, quoted in court, contained an admission that he had sent between 15 and 150 pornographic images via e-mail.
It seems to me that The Radio Equalizer has been neutralized.Source: SFGate - Bernie Ward admits to child porn in plea deal
