Nobel Hypocrite

al-gore.jpgNow this one really burns me… Since the inception of this website, we’ve been tracking the likes of Al Gore and his ramblings about global warming. We’ve stomached energy-wasting concerts, gas guzzling private planes, nobel prize ceremonies, movies with false imagery of melting glacial ice, and have been exposed to countless speeches on conservation (which I equate to a speech on poverty or punctuality given by John Edwards).

Now we learn that the amount of energy consumed by Al Gore’s Tennessee home in 1 year could power 232 U.S. home for an ENTIRE MONTH. WTF?!? According to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research:

“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”

In the past year, Gore’s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

The day after Al Gore’s epic hypocrisy-flick “An Inconvenient Truth” was released, the real inconvenient truth was also released: Al Gore’s residence consumes 20 times more energy than the average house. Al Gore is a hypocrite and blatantly disregards his own message. This is “do as I say and not as I do” to the core. But wait, it gets even better…

After the Tennessee Center for Policy Research exposed Gore’s massive home energy use, the former Vice President scurried to make his home more energy-efficient. Despite adding solar panels, installing a geothermal system, replacing existing light bulbs with more efficient models, and overhauling the home’s windows and ductwork, Gore now consumes more electricity than before the “green” overhaul.

So much for green advocacy. What say you now, Al? Are you afraid of the dark?

[...] Gore continues his assault on our collective intelligence. We’ve previously reported on his “green” mansion that actually consumes about 12 times as much energy as an average house. We then learned that said [...]
