Enquirer: Edwards STILL Lying

 

In lieu of recent events, it should come as no surprise to learn that former Presidential hopeful Sen. John Edwards is STILL lying. It appears that even his long-awaited interview confirming the affair was riddled with lies. Perhaps this is the “99% truth” to which he was referring? The National Enquirer has uncovered new evidence to suggest that Edwards is incapable of telling the truth:

 

Edwards’ headline-making admission confirmed The ENQUIRER’s blockbuster world exclusive reports detailing his affair, in articles Edwards brazenly called “completely untrue” and “tabloid trash” while running for president and afterward.

And now The ENQUIRER has uncovered that Edwards’ political operatives are still paying his mistress Rielle Hunter - and she was whisked away on a private jet two days before he confessed their extramarital affair on national TV! 

The ENQUIRER has also confirmed that Edwards secretly visited Rielle and their love child three separate times at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles this year - a fact that proves he is still lying to America and his wife.

ENQUIRER reporters caught Edwards, 55, making a late-night visit to 44-year-old Rielle and their daughter at the hotel on July 21 - which prompted us to release the first-ever photograph of him with his love child last week. 

NOW, The ENQUIRER has uncovered more blockbuster information, including:

After Edwards confessed the affair to his wife, he restarted it, and was sexually involved with Rielle when she became pregnant.

Despite his denials, Edwards WAS aware that his former finance committee chairman, Fred Baron,  was funneling money to Rielle. 

Experts are now calling for a federal investigation into Edwards’ use of campaign funds.

In an interview with ABC’s Nightline correspondent Bob Woodruff on Aug. 8, the former North Carolina senator admitted for the first time that he engaged in what he called a “short” extramarital affair with campaign worker Rielle Hunter. 

Edwards told ABC the affair was limited to 2006, before he confessed “the mistake” to wife Elizabeth, 59, who is battling a recurrence of breast cancer.

But Edwards denied he’s the father of Rielle’s daughter, who was born on Feb. 27, 2008. The ENQUIRER reported last December that Hunter had told close confidantes that he was the father.

In denying he fathered Rielle’s baby, Edwards told ABC that he would “be happy” to take a paternity test to prove he’s telling the truth. (He has refused numerous previous requests by The ENQUIRER to take a paternity test.)

Edwards claimed he ended the affair in 2006, but sources say he restarted the illicit romance after confessing to his wife. 

Rielle soon became pregnant after the affair was rekindled, say sources. 

The ongoing ENQUIRER investigation has also confirmed that he has been with Rielle and the baby three times this year in California. 

Now that Edwards’ credibility is thoroughly shot, we must call for a paternity test. Let’s see if the mainstream media is hesitant to pick this one up…

John Edwards and the Truth Scandal

The spectacle of yet another Leftist Democrat, John Edwards, looking the American people dead in the eye and lying to them is nothing new.  The news spinners of the mainstream media have tried to portray the Edwards Affair as a sex scandal.  It is not.  It is a truth scandal.  It is, in fact, part of a spiraling truth scandal that seems to have engulfed the Left.

While it is easy to compare Edwards’ infidelity to Clinton’s infidelity, unfaithfulness in marriage is not the problem.  Adultery is as old as the Decalogue.  God thought enough about the subject to include it in those commandments recognized by Jews and Christians alike.  Beyond that, Edwards’s lawyer wife, like Clinton’s lawyer wife, seems to have taken this breach of contract in stride.

 Adultery may be an old vice, but the terrible new vice of the Left is an indifference to truth which seems to fill every crevice of the Leftist brain.  When Al Gore gets up and says that global warning is accepted science, is he lying?  Who knows?  Gore has made such huge mistakes of fact over the last few decades that he might really believe that all scientists think that the planet is getting warmer.  But Gore obviously does not care too much whether global warming is true or not.  He never even pretends to listen to the other side.  In fact, he acts as if there was no “other side” at all.  Al Gore is grossly indifferent to truth.

When Howard Dean made a series of whopping mistakes four years ago - the “Soviet Union,” in Dean’s mind, was still around; presidents could “order” state legislatures to adopt Right to Work — and it did not matter much whether this was true.  John Kerry was just as indifferent to truth.  As a Catholic, Kerry followed “Pope Pius XXIII,” a nonexistent pope, and Kerry was sent to Vietnam by Nixon, although LBJ, not Nixon, was president at the time, and Kerry was in Cambodia over a Christmas in which he really wasn’t in Cambodia.  Dean and Kerry are not the sort of sleazy liars that Clinton and Edwards are, but Dean and Kerry are much more sophisticated liars:  Dean and Kerry lie about reality. 

 

 

The whole empire of the Left is pockmarked with  gross indifference to what is true and what is false, to what is history and what is myth, to what is real and to what is illusion.   When Barack Obama talks about fifty-seven states of the union, he does not really care how many states there are in our nation.  Facts like that don’t matter.  All that matters is what has been defined as the chic Leftism of today.

Edwards Admits to Affair

Two words: character counts. Even John Edwards would agree. Here is his response to CBS News anchor Katie Couric on the subject of marital fidelity:

 

Of course. I mean, for a lot of Americans – including the family that I grew up with, I mean, it’s fundamental to how you judge people and human character – whether you keep your word, whether you keep what is your ultimate word, which is that you love your spouse, and you’ll stay with them. … I think the most important qualities in a president in today’s world are trustworthiness – sincerity, honesty, strength of leadership. And – and certainly that goes to a part of that.

It appears now that these hypocritical words uttered by the Dapper Douchebag Democrat will haunt him for the rest of his life. John Edwards has admitted to ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff that he *did* have an affair with novice filmmaker Reille Hunter. Take that, mainstream media! Now you finally have something to report, dontcha…

John Edwards repeatedly lied during his Presidential campaign about an extra-marital affair with a novice film-maker, the former Senator admitted to ABC News today:

In an interview for broadcast tonight on Nightline, Edwards told ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff he did have an affair with 42-year old Rielle Hunter, but said that he did not love her.

Edwards also denied he was the father of Hunter’s baby girl, Frances Quinn, although the one-time Democratic Presidential candidate said he has not taken a paternity test.

Edwards said he knew he was not the father based on timing of the baby’s birth on February 27, 2008. He said his affair ended too soon for him to have been the father.

A former campaign aide, Andrew Young, has said he was the father of the child.

According to friends of Hunter, Edwards met her at a New York city bar in 2006. His political action committee later paid her $114,000 to produce campaign website documentaries despite her lack of experience.

And… in a futile attempt to look like less of an asshole, Edwards explains:

Edwards made a point of telling Woodruff that his wife’s cancer was in remission when he began the affair with Hunter. Elizabeth Edwards has since been diagnosed with an incurable form of the disease.

Yes, but we’ve since learned that the cancer has returned in an incurable form and, well, wasn’t he just caught leaving her hotel room in L.A. towards the end of July? 

The mainstream media now needs to make up for their lack of attention into this by investigating whether or not Edwards is indeed her baby daddy.

UPDATE: Statement Released from Senator John Edwards:

In 2006, I made a serious error in judgment and conducted myself in a way that was disloyal to my family and to my core beliefs. I recognized my mistake and I told my wife that I had a liaison with another woman, and I asked for her forgiveness. Although I was honest in every painful detail with my family, I did not tell the public. When a supermarket tabloid told a version of the story, I used the fact that the story contained many falsities to deny it. But being 99% honest is no longer enough. 

I was and am ashamed of my conduct and choices, and I had hoped that it would never become public. With my family, I took responsibility for my actions in 2006 and today I take full responsibility publicly. But that misconduct took place for a short period in 2006. It ended then. I am and have been willing to take any test necessary to establish the fact that I am not the father of any baby, and I am truly hopeful that a test will be done so this fact can be definitively established. I only know that the apparent father has said publicly that he is the father of the baby. I also have not been engaged in any activity of any description that requested, agreed to or supported payments of any kind to the woman or to the apparent father of the baby.

It is inadequate to say to the people who believed in me that I am sorry, as it is inadequate to say to the people who love me that I am sorry. In the course of several campaigns, I started to believe that I was special and became increasingly egocentric and narcissistic. If you want to beat me up – feel free. You cannot beat me up more than I have already beaten up myself. I have been stripped bare and will now work with everything I have to help my family and others who need my help. 

I have given a complete interview on this matter and having done so, will have nothing more to say.

Obama’s Problem With The Flag

 

What exactly is Presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s problem with the American flag? In October of last year, we learned that Obama stopped wearing an American flag pin, partially in protest to the war in Iraq:

 

 

“You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin,” Obama said. “Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we’re talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest.

“Instead,” he said, “I’m going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testimony to my patriotism.”

Missouri State Rep Assaults Teen

This latest douchebag is Missouri State Representative Scott Muschany, and he was charged with having sex with a 14-year-old girl, one day after this year’s state legislative session had ended. According to this St. Louis Dispatch article:

The alleged victim is the daughter of a state employee. The girl’s mother and Muschany -– who is married and has two children — were romantically involved, the woman said.

A Cole County grand jury returned an indictment today charging Muschany with the Class C felony of “deviate sexual assault.” The indictment identifies the victim only by initials. It says that on May 17, Muschany “had deviate sexual intercourse” with the girl, “knowing that he did so without” her consent.

Muschany, 42, was booked into the Cole County Jail today at 2:50 and he was released after posting a $5,000 bond. If convicted, Muschany faces a fine of up to $5,000 and a prison term of up to 7 years.

Muschany surprised many in political circles by announcing in late May that he was not running again this November. At the time he said he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Now he’ll have more time to spend with his *new* family in jail. Douchebag.

Hypocrisy Floats

Nobel Peace Prize winner and tireless eco-hypocrite Al Gore continues his assault on our collective intelligence. We’ve previously reported on his “green” mansion that actually consumes about 12 times as much energy as an average house. We then learned that said house consumed MORE energy after making improvements, such as solar panels, etc. Now the hypocrite laureat has a big-ass yacht, named “Bio-Solar One,” which is purported to be the first “green boat” in existence. Well, there’s one problem with that:

 

As you can see, “Bio-Solar One” (read: BS-1) is inconveniently hooked up to the non-eco friendly power grid. That’s not very green now, is it? Only after local whistleblowers called attention to this small detail did Gore have set out to have solar panels installed on the behemoth. Now, here’s another shot to show the enormity of this custom-built “green” monstrosity:

Wait, Al… is that a fuel-guzzling recreational jet ski on the back of this thing? Your hypocrisy never fails to amaze us. Somewhere, a polar bear is shedding a solitary tear.

John Edwards: Busted.

Today we learn that presidential hopeful Barack Obama won’t be the only one getting his nuts cut off. Vice Presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards was caught visiting his mistress and love child in a Los Angeles hotel. The National Enquirer had originally alleged there was a cheating scandal back in December of last year. In true elitist liberal hypocrite fashion, both parties denied all allegations. Specifically, John Edwards reported:

“The story is false. It’s completely untrue, ridiculous . . . Anyone who knows me knows that I have been in love with the same woman for 30 plus years”

Liar.

National Enquirer reporters observed the Vice Presidential contender entering a Los Angeles hotel to spend private time with his mistress, Rielle Hunter and love child:

At 9:45 p.m. (PST) Monday Edwards appeared at the hotel, and was dropped off at a side entrance. NATIONAL ENQUIRER reporter Alan Butterfield witnessed the ex-senator get out of a BMW driven by a male companion and stroll into the hotel.

Said Butterfield: “Edwards was not carrying anything. He walked in alone. He was wearing a blue dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He was looking around nervously before he entered the hotel.

“Once inside, he interestingly bypassed the lobby and ducked down a side stairs to go to the bottom floor to catch the elevator up - rather than taking the elevator in the main lobby. He went out of his way not to be seen.”

Meanwhile, Reille had reserved rooms 246 and 252 under the name of the friend who had accompanied her from Santa Barbara, Bob McGovern. Reille was in one room and McGovern was in another with her baby. This allowed her and Edwards to spend time alone, a source revealed.

Edwards went out of the hotel briefly with Reille, they were observed by the NATIONAL ENQUIRER and then went back to her room, where he stayed until attempting to sneak out of the hotel unseen at 2:40 a.m. (PST). But when he emerged alone from an elevator into the hotel basement he was greeted by several reporters from the NATIONAL ENQUIRER.

Senior NATIONAL ENQUIRER Reporter Alexander Hitchen asked Edwards why he was visiting Rielle and whether he was ready to confirm that he was the father of her baby.

Shocked to see a reporter, and without saying anything, Edwards ran up the stairs leading from the hotel basement to the lobby. But, spotting a photographer, he doubled back into the basement. As he emerged from the stairwell, reporter Butterfield questioned him about his hookup with Reille.

Edwards did not answer and then ran into a nearby restroom. He stayed inside for about 15 minutes, refusing to answer questions from the NATIONAL ENQUIRER about what he was doing in the hotel. A group of hotel security men eventually escorted him from the men’s room, while preventing the NATIONAL ENQUIRER reporters from following him out of the hotel.

Said reporter Hitchen: “After we confronted him about seeing Rielle, Edwards looked like a deer caught in headlights!

Flying Imams Want Airline Security Information

Uhhh… you’ve got to be kidding, right? The trial for the notorious “flying imams” has now reached the evidence discovery phase, and a CAIR-NY attorney for the imams is requesting that US Airways cough up information on their airline safety procedures:

Omar Mohammedi, attorney for the imams, and President of the Board of Directors for the New York Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, went first. His motion was for the judge, Arthur Boylan, to compel US Airways to divulge its training manuals, and information on its security procedures, so that they could show that the security procedures were not followed down to the last jot and tittle when the imams were removed from US Airways Flight 300 on November 20, 2006.

Those of you who are following this case closely might be thinking “Arthur Boylan? What happened to Ann Montgomery?” The PACER database reports that Ann Montgomery is the presiding judge, and Arthur Boylan is a referral judge. Ann Montgomery will still be the judge at the trial in 2009.

When I realized what Mohammedi was asking for, I was briefly dazed, as I heard the sound in my mind’s ear of a thousand bloggers screaming something to the effect of “Ok, let me get this straight. A group of imams led by a fundraiser for a Muslim charity (the Holy Land Foundation) which was shut down by the Treasury Department for its connections to Hamas, is asking a judge to compel an airline to divulge its security procedures. And everyone’s OK with that?!?”

How about: “No.”

It seems evident that the imams are on an exploratory mission to obtain information on post-9/11 airline security procedures. While the CAIR-NY lawyer may claim that this is a standard request, and something to protect the civil rights of their clients, this information would undoubtedly fall into the hands of terrorists. If the judge doesn’t comply this request, is it reasonable to assume that Leaky Leahy and now Chuck Schumer would be happy to oblige?

Schumer The Market Manipulator

In an unprecedented “Leaky Leahy” maneuver, New York Senator Chuck Schumer released to the press a letter that he had penned, specifically noting the financial instability of the failing IndyMac Bancorp:

[D]epositors may have been spooked by a letter late last week from Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., the Office of Thrift Supervision and the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, saying he was “concerned that IndyMac’s financial deterioration poses significant risks to both taxpayers and borrowers.”

The letter stunned some Wall Street analysts, who said Schumer was in effect sealing the lender’s fate by raising the prospect of its failure. Schumer’s response? Don’t kill the messenger. “Make no mistake about it: IndyMac’s problems were caused by IndyMac’s management and no one else,” Schumer spokesman Brian Fallon said in an email. “The home loan bank system has an obligation to lend responsibly and police its members. But it has not been doing its job. We have found the only way to get the home loan bank system to act appropriately and positively is to make public the concerns we’ve already expressed privately.”

The letter has irritated both bank regulators and bankers alike. John M. Reich, director of the Office of Thrift Supervision responds to the letter:

“Dissemination of incomplete or erroneous information can erode public confidence, mislead depositors and investors, and cause unintended consequences, including depositor runs and panic stock trades. Rumors and innuendo cause damage to financial institutions that might not occur otherwise and these concerns drive our strict policy of privacy.”

I think that statement explains Schumer’s motivations right there. Schumer, who clearly hails from the far-left would jump at any opportunity to erode public confidence during a Republican administration - especially during an election year. In any event, Schumer acted irresponsibly in leaking such a letter. After all, aren’t professional bank regulators supposed to do the regulating?  Schumer’s actions may vary well do irrevocable harm to the already failing loan industry.

All of this aside, John D. Hawke, the U.S. Comptroller of the Currency from 1998 to 2004 responds:

“If Schumer continues to go public with letters raising questions about the condition of individual institutions, he will cause havoc in the banking system,” Hawke said.

“Leaking his IndyMac letter to the press was reckless and grossly irresponsible. I don’t see how he can be trusted with confidential information in the future. What this incredibly stupid conduct does is put at risk the willingness of regulators to share any information with the [congressional] oversight committees. After this, you’d be crazy to share information with Schumer.”

Reckless. Grossly irresponsible. Can’t be trusted with confidential information. Stupid conduct. Mr. Hawke, I think you nailed it. The Democrats prove again that they cannot be trusted with confidential information.

Update: Democrats for Satan

If Democratic strategist Paul Begala is going to call Republican donors “dirtbags,” then we can play that game too… Let’s see… Uh… Democratic Party officials are big, fat, ugly, kidnappin’, keep-people-in-dog-cagin’, shackle-people-to-bed, rapin’ satanists. No, seriously. According to this WorldNetDaily report:

Joy Johnson, 30, a vice-chairwoman of the Durham County Democratic Party and vice chairwoman of the Young Democrats, made an appearance in court yesterday after she and her spouse, Joseph Craig, were arrested Friday.Craig, 25, is charged with second-degree rape, second-degree kidnapping and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon for an incident in January and another in May. Johnson is charged with two counts of aiding and abetting.According to published and broadcast reports, prosecutors said a man and a woman met Craig through a shared interest in Satan worship, although the couple never consented to any physical abuse.Craig allegedly shackled his victims to beds, kept them in dog cages and starved them inside his home. Police say he beat the man with a cane and a cord, and raped the woman.

Silly democrats. Don’t you read your own party platform?

The Democratic Party has a long and proud history of representing and protecting the interests of working Americans and guaranteeing personal liberties for all. One of the places we articulate our beliefs is in the Party’s National Platform, adopted every four years by the Delegates at the National Convention.

Now, be good democrats: say you’re sorry, blame the Bush administration, and get on with things.

The North Carolina case of an alleged satanic torture involving a Democratic Party official and her husband has now expanded to include a third suspect, an even higher-ranking Democrat.

Diana Palmer, the first vice-chairwoman of the Durham County Democratic Party, joins her political colleague Joy Johnson, the third vice-chairwoman of the party, and Johnson’s spouse, Joseph Craig, in facing charges.

Palmer, 44, surrendered to police in Durham, N.C., this afternoon and was charged with being an accessory after the fact of assault with a deadly weapon. She’s being held at the Durham County Jail under $95,000 bail.
