Cocaine Cop

California Highway Patrolman Joshua Blackburn apparently had three duties: protect, serve, and steal cocaine. The 32-year-old officer has allegedly stolen more than $1 million worth of seized cocaine which was stored in an evidence locker room.

Joshua Blackburn, 32, stole more than 40 kilograms of cocaine from an evidence locker room at the California Highway Patrol office at about 4 a.m. last Friday, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s office. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday but his attorney, John Barnett, requested the hearing postponed because he said he had not received all police reports on the case.

Orange County Superior Court Commissioner Cheryl Leininger scheduled the arraignment for Jan. 9.

Blackburn, a six-year highway patrol veteran, was charged with burglary, possession for sale of cocaine and transportation of cocaine. He has been held on a $4 million bail at an Orange County prison since his arrest last week.

The film shows the former Pakistani Prime Minister addressing huge crowds in Rawalpindi.

But panic ensues when bullets are fired at Mrs Bhutto’s convoy which was then followed by a suicide bomb blast.

The Pakistani government has released a transcript of a conversation between two al Qaeda leaders, Baitullah Mehsud and Maluvi Sahib, proving that the terrorist group is responsible for the Bhutto assassination. Here is an excerpt from the the full transcript:

Maulvi Sahib: They were our men there.

Mehsud: Who were they?

Maulvi Sahib : There were Saeed, the second was Badarwala Bilal and Ikramullah was also there.

Mehsud: The three did it?

In other news, the cracks in the Clinton campaign are really beginning to show. According to this L.A. Times article, Hillary refuses to take audience questions following campaign speeches:

As she races through Iowa in the days before next week’s caucuses, Hillary Clinton is taking few chances. She tells crowds that it’s their turn to “pick a president,” but over the last two days she has not invited them to ask her any questions.

Before the brief Christmas break, the New York senator had been setting aside time after campaign speeches to hear from the audience. Now when she’s done speaking, her theme songs blare from loudspeakers, preventing any kind of public Q&A.

Campaign officials are blaming this campaign nuance on time constraints. I believe it is something a little more sinister: the writer’s strike is affecting the Clinton campaign. No writers? No pre-written questions to plant. Hmmm.

Martyr, My Ass…

An Iraqi group tha tis linked to al Qaeda confirms that their top figure has been killed. Here is an excerpt from this Reuters article:

An al Qaeda-linked group in Iraq has confirmed the death of Abu Maysara, a top operative who the U.S. military said was killed in a clash last month, according to a recording posted on the Web on Saturday.

Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, leader of the Islamic State in Iraq, hailed Maysara as “a martyr who was a scholar and a mujahid (holy war fighter)”, on the audio tape posted on Islamist Web sites.

The U.S. military said earlier in December that Maysara, a Syrian, was among nine senior al Qaeda members killed in November. It described him as an adviser to Baghdadi, also known as Abu Ayyub al-Masri, and his slain predecessor Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Baghdadi called on insurgents to keep fighting during the current Eid al-Adha feast, when Muslims sacrifice animals.

Vanessa Redgrave Supports Terrorism

It’s a shame that crotchety old actress and human rights windbag Vanessa Redgrave isn’t dead, because she now uses her fortune to spring terrorists from prison. Here is an excerpt from this London Telegraph article:

A former Guantanamo Bay detainee wanted for extradition by Spain on terrorism charges is to be released after being granted bail by a London magistrates’ court.

Jamil el-Banna, 45, was one of three British residents arrested after landing back in the country last night following their release from the controversial US military prison on Cuba.

Appearing at City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court today, el-Banna was granted bail of £50,000 by Senior District Judge Timothy Workman, despite prosecution arguments that he was highly likely to abscond.

The actress and human rights activist Vanessa Redgrave was named as one of the possible suretors in court.

Interviewed outside, she declined to be specific about her financial involvement but said she was “very happy” to be of “some small assistance for Jamil and his wife”.

“It is a profound honour and I am glad to be alive to be able to do this,” she said. “Guantanamo Bay is a concentration camp.”

Well then, it’s a profound honor to call you a douchebag, Ms. Redgrave. Now, here’s a list of things to boycott.

Oral Examination

Here is another nominee for the Douchebag Report’s coveted “teacher of the year” award. Who would have thought that “making the grade” would be so easy…

Isaac Nathan Tillis was arrested after repeatedly telling student she could earn an “A” if she gave him oral sex. He lured the girl into a teacher’s lounge bathroom on Wednesday, but once inside police and the girl sprung a trap.

The 16-year-old was wearing a hidden listening device, which recorded Tillis’ proposition after he dropped his pants, police say. The 29-year-old teacher had also scribbled his request on a hall pass, an arrest report states.

Officers arrested Tillis and charged him with soliciting a lewd sex act from a minor.

Harry Reid: Obstructionist Douchebag

If there was ever a doubt that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid heads a coterie of obstructionist douchebags, here is another stellar reason to be upset with our distinguished do-nothing Democrats:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has announced that he will call the Senate into pro forma sessions every several days during the upcoming winter recess in order to prevent President Bush from making recess appointments.

Reid explained that he and Josh Bolten, the White House chief of staff, were not able to reach an agreement to prevent Bush from giving a receess appointment to Stephen Bradbury, the actiing head of DOJ”s Legal Counsel, and without that agreement with the White House, Reid refused to allow the Senate to recess for three weeks.

As it stands now, Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.) or some other Democrat will come in every couple days, gavel the Senate into session, and then immediately adjourn. This will block Bush from using his recess-appointment authority.

“What If I’m A Douchebag?”

What if you’re a nervous airline passenger, and you happen to utter the words “What if I had a bomb?” You just might be New Jersey resident Andrew Brestle, and you just might be our latest douchebag.

According to this NBC article, that question will also indeed get you off of the plane, and a steep fine will follow:

Andrew Brestle was a passenger on the July tenth flight from Orlando to Atlantic City, New Jersey. The flight was first delayed because of bad weather, then because of Brestle. According to court records, he panicked and asked to get off the plane. When told to stay put, Brestle reportedly said, “What if I had a bomb?”

The aircraft was evacuated.

Brestle has bipolar disorder and claims he said something else. But he admitted to authorities that what he did was wrong. He has to pay a $2,500 fine for the bomb threat and more than $36,700 to Spirit Airlines. That’s to cover the cost of canceling the flight and rescheduling its passengers.

Only $36,000 for uttering a bomb threat on a crowded flight? If you ask me, there is something seriously wrong with this: Mr. Brestle got off easy.

Just A Harmless Sing-Along DVD…

Hey parents, forget Blues Clues and Barney. A video that begins with a little yellow chicken will inspire your children to become suicide bombers. The cute little chicky has been found on a sing-along DVD, offered for sale in a Britain community known for breeding terrorists and violent Islamic sympathizers. Here is an excerpt from this Daily Mail article:

In the DVD an Arab woman is seen playing with her two children. She then makes a bomb out of sticks of dynamite in the bedroom as her young daughter enters. The woman leaves home with dynamite tucked into her dress and blows herself up after being challenged by soldiers leaving her children and husband to learn of her death on TV.

To the sounds of haunting music there are graveyard scenes, along with pictures of the dead bomber looking serene and dressed in white.

Her daughter finds a stick of dynamite in her mother’s wardrobe. The girl, aged about five or six, turns to the camera with the subtitles: “My love will not be by words. I will follow my mother’s steps.”

A Religion Of Peace?

Need more proof that the religion of Islam is a religion of hatred, violence, and oppression? Just ask Muhammad Parvez, a 57-year old Canadian Muslim, who is accused of killing his 16-year-old daughter for not wearing her traditional religious head scarf. According to this ABC News article:

Authorities said cabdriver Muhammad Parvez admitting killing 16-year-old Agsa Parvez. The teenager died Tuesday in a Toronto suburb.

Agsa’s older brother also will appear in court today because police said he obstructed their investigation.

The case is grabbing international attention because Agsa’s friends believe her defiance and clash over Western culture with her father may have contributed to her death.

Agsa disagreed with her father about whether she should wear the traditional Muslim head scarf called a hijab.

Update: Lest anyone believe that Mr. Parvez is not representative of the Muslim culture, and that this incident should simply be treated as an instance of extreme domestic violence, pay attention to these words from top Muslim cleric in Iran, Hojatolislam Gholam Reza Hassani:

“Women who do not respect the hijab and their husbands deserve to die,” said Hassani, who leads Friday prayers in the city of Urumieh, in Iranian Azerbaijan.

“I do not understand how these women who do not respect the hijab, 28 years after the birth of the Islamic Republic, are still alive,” he said.

“These women and their husbands and their fathers must die,” said Hassani, who is the representative of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in eastern Azerbaijan.
