Apparently, condoms won’t just stop the flow of semen and STDs.  If you flush them down the toilet they can block up the outflow and cause a bit of a spill or worse…

The management of one short-time hotel in Muang District discovered, to its chagrin, that a steady input of second-hand prophylactics can block not only a toilet, but indeed an entire neighborhood sewage system, leading to streets flooded with filthy, condom infested water.

With any luck this means that the mess wasn’t tainted with AIDS, Genital Warts, Gonorhea, Syphylis, Herpes, Chlamydia,  Crabs, Vaginitis, or Hepatitis

Dianne Wilkerson Arrested

Yesterday morning, Massachusetts State Senator Dianne Wilkerson – a Democrat – was arrested and charged with attempted extortion and wire fraud, resulting from an 18-month FBI led investigation over corruption. The FBI report shows that Wilkerson has taken a total of $23,500 in bribes, in order to help secure a liquor license for the Roxbury, MA nightclub Dejavu. The FBI has released photos, showing Wilson taking bribes from an undercover FBI informant.

This arrest, however, is just the icing on the cake for Ms. Wilkerson, who has a long history of career mistakes, ranging from campaign-finance violations, failure to pay taxes, and perjury:

It wasn’t until 2006, however, that Wilkerson formed an organization to collect and raise funds for the conference. Judging by its articles of incorporation, the organization was closely tied to her campaign. Its mailing address is Wilkerson’s former district office. Its treasurer, Monica Dean, was Wilkerson’s campaign manager, and its president, Carla Richards, was her chief of staff. . .

After registering with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the state in early 2006 as a 501(c)3, the group touted its tax-exempt status on its Web site in seeking to drum up support. In 2007, the conference was backed by prominent corporations seeking to demonstrate their social responsibility, including Bank of America and the Red Sox.

But after registering the nonprofit, Wilkerson — who is listed as the sole director of the nonprofit and whose then-office was (and still is) listed as the organization’s address when the 501(c)3 paperwork was initially filed — neglected to file tax returns. This is not the first time she has failed to meet the requirements of the IRS: Wilkerson served time in a halfway house following an income-tax-evasion conviction in 1997. (Ironically, she is also the current vice-chair of the Senate Financial Services committee.)

Under federal law, any organization with estimated annual receipts exceeding $25,000, such as Wilkerson’s, is required to file annual reports and to make those documents available to the public. A spokesperson for the state attorney general’s office, which oversees public charities, said 21st Century Black Massachusetts has been informed that it is not in compliance and has yet to respond. The IRS can level up to a $10,000 fine for noncompliance with filing requirements and revoke tax-exempt status.

Because no reports have been filed, there’s no way of knowing how much the charity has received or how it has spent its funds. However, Bank of America alone, one of six corporate sponsors, cut a check for $10,000, according to its foundation’s 2007 return. (There is no record of the conference having been held this year.) What’s more, use of the Hynes Convention Center was provided gratis as part of a sponsorship arrangement with the state convention authority.

Bad Cop, No Donut

 

Morrisville State College police office Sgt. Steve Brody has been arrested for petit larceny. His crime? Brody is accused of taking about $30 worth of donuts over 17 separate occasions.  

 

According to surveillance videos from the Valero Nice N Easy convenience store, Brody would routinely take advantage of their “free coffee to police” policy, and would also slip a not-so-complimentary donut into his pocket.

Doh!

Canadian Football’s Rapist Douchebag

Canadians seem like a reasonable bunch, if overly polite.  There are exceptions, though, like Canadian football player Tyler Stevens, 20, a second-year defensive back for the Okanagan Sun.  He was arrested on nine counts of sexual assault.

Now, if he was an American football player, one might figure him to be your typical jock date-rapist, who had a habit of getting drunk and failing to comprehend that “No” might actually mean no.

But then you’d read this:

He has also been charged with two counts of being masked while in the commission of an offence.

And then you realize that it’s not a matter of hormones and miscommunication.  It’s premeditated criminal rapist behavior.  And then you want to castrate the douchebag with a shovel.

Two of the nine assaults Stephens has been charged with occurred in June, according to Kelowna court documents.

In the first attack, a woman was in her Kelowna home June 12 when an attacker confronted her in her bedroom. The woman’s screams woke up her roommate and the attacker fled.

The second attack took place on June 19 when a man forced his way into a basement suite, after a woman answered a knock at the door. A neighbour interrupted the assault.

Details on the seven other charges were not immediately available.

Les Weiss, president of the Okanagan Sun, said in an interview Thursday that the team was unaware that there were charges pending against Stephens, adding somebody “dropped the ball” by not notifying the team.

No word if the pun was intentional…

Al Qaeda leader Abu Yahya al-Libi has issued this little gem of a prayer to mark the feast of Eid al-Fitr:

 

“O God, humiliate Bush and his party, O Lord of the Worlds, degrade and defy him,” Abu Yahya al-Libi said at the end of sermon marking the Muslim feast of Eid al-Fitr, in a video posted on the Internet.

According to this Reuters article, this is the first time that an al Qaeda leader had made any remarks regarding U.S. elections.

When you give something you own and let someone else have it, it’s sharing.

Despite Barack Obama’s aversion to being tied to Muslims and terrorists, he has some odd allies canvassing for him, calling random American families to convince them to vote for Obama.

Sounds like the perfect storm for Senator Obama.  Anti-Israeli Palestinian Muslims, a group most closely associated with terrorism, trying to get him the vote.
